Oh yes, the grape costs came in! On average (unweighted) we came in within budget, so much so that we were able to do a couple more drums. We're at the edge of our tolerances though and by 'tolerances" I mean equipment capacity and not our tempers or demeanour.
And the garolla conversion setup to go from garolla outlet to TC outlet arrived - and it fits too!
So, we're all set. Just need confirmation over quantities and delivery.
Marty's getting a few last minute bits and pieces by way of hosing for the racking to secondary fermentation. Is he coming by this Saturday?
Michael's on to The State about the Show and tasting etc.
We paid off the pump and now we face the cost of grapes. Not too much of a shortfall though. Manageable.
Good meeting last night. Marty brough a Michigan Port, 2004. It was quite fruity and I hadn't had that in a Port before. Anton brought a SanGiovese - it didn't hang around. We need food at these things in future.
Also solved the mystery of greasing up the pump. The pump is protected thickly with a food grade grease. This we'll clean off and coat the impeller instead with glycerin before use.
