Labels &exhibs #2

Any and all advice on this one greatly appreciated!

Exhibition.
This si something we never figured intot he pricing and funding. I've no idea if this is pricey , or what, but it will cost a not-so-cool $1,100 if we book a 1/6th b&w ad in the affiliated magazine. The Ad cost @ $500. ouch! But what're you to do? Given the 1,000s of people going through this, planning their weddings means we get a concentrated shot at our market. To meet that many people otherwise is to spend a lot of hours cold calling and visiting. When you look at it like that, this is a very cost effective route to the niche market we want to hit. It is also the market that will take appreciable volume of our wine.
Then there's the design of the booth . We're going for a couple of columns, some drapery, and use of marble tiles. Of course a few bottles of wine too, all labelled up.
Lots to do here.

Labels.
We agreed on a label made up of heavier weight paper, of sepia or dark parchment tones. Keeping the label simple and the story on the rear label.
I am unsure of the VV as that doesn't mean anything apart from being the initials of the winery name, Via Vecchia. And its cold, stark, uninviting. But you need something, right?
We're hoping we get some good ideas and images that we can offer the label company.
Brochure.
Need to visit the printer. Offer up our design elements and latest attempt at a brochure. There's a graphics artist to follow through with. It is interesting to see what they could come up with given our design elements. This will help with the labels. We want labels mocked up according to our specs, but then a set as the designer sees it - you never know.. could be they produce something we love.. and you know, I feel that we're in that land of we don't know what we really want until we see it. yes of course, we have agreed parameters and can work with basic images, but until a professional renders them for you and then applies their skill, you never know if you've done yourself justice.
Grapes.
Need to follow through with Mercurio for grapes. I'll call tomorrow.
Michael's friends are starting a vineyard, so they're a few years off from producing, but this may be a good source to get in on the ground with them and have them plant grapes we're interested in. organic too - hopefully.

Sink.
Yes, the sink again. I looked into just attaching sink hoses to the feed pipes. I think that will work.
Door.
I finished framing the basement door on Sunday on the inside. Very simple job, but had to be done.

State Licensing.
had to provide more info to the State. We had provided info on our funding for this venture, but now they want to know where we got the money from, so we called them and we provided copies of our personal bank statements showing the debits that together equalled the funding in the winery's account.
I'll call Eric tomorrow, see how he's doing with our application.

That's it for now.

Comments, ideas etc, very welcome guys 'n' gals, especially if your any good with graphic design.
