Yes, but can you step out of the plane?

Sad to say, we put the business at risk on Saturday. Yes, one half of Via Vecchia Winery decided to go skydiving. Now this wasn't your usual open the door and jump out thing, oh no, there was a bonus; you got to step out onto the step above the wheel and hold onto the wing strut in a crouching position before letting go and falling back to earth. Riding outside the plane, now that is something.
Needless to say skydiving was totally different to what we had expected. You fall to earth on a cushion of air with no sick sensation and no real sense that the earth is rushing up to meet you. We had fantastic instructors who never once misled us about what would happen, when etc. Chris had over 5,000 jumps to his credit! And Harry, self-proclaimed speeed-freak of the air, a couple of thousand. We are going back and making a day of it with food and drink in the spring.

Winery business.
1. Logo design. Met with Kim on Wednesday. She worked in some images to the name and it looks good. We need to focus on one of two things now to push for final development.

2. Need to decide on barrels for next year. This is costly whichever way you cut it. New or Used? A couple of French Oakers? Other Woods?

3. Solicitor's licensing - need this to start advertizing.

4. COLAS - the online COLA applications are approved. members should go into the yahoo mail account, pull their email and follow instructions.

5. Shiraz - I took the specific gravity of the SZ today - about dead-on 1.0, far as I can tell. But, I'll let it go as I want to keep using the old methods rather than lose them to relying on "book learning" as that will never develop your "feel' of things so you can decide what to do if things aren't on track. I'd rather trust my own senses any day.
