Taste Theory [ #1] Coffee

Occasionally, visitors of Via Vecchia Winery approach the tasting table with a desire to try our all natural wines but with little to no preference when provided four different options. There are some guests that initially know what they typically prefer, whereas others honestly mention that they have never really had a comparison opportunity or that they perhaps have never had wine at all

Taste Theory #1  |  Coffee

To begin with, if you do not enjoy coffee, then this theory can work in your advantage to narrow out which wines you instantly may not favor. If this sounds like you, we would suggest trying our lightest and smooth red wine, Trovato a Sangiovese Pinot Noir.

This wine is incredibly smooth and can even be chilled to encourage a fruit-focused taste.

-

If you enjoy a Breakfast Blend or perhaps a neutral Guatemalan coffee, this potentially suggests our lightest as mentioned above as well as the next 'step up' to our medium red wine, Adamo a Sangiovese Cabernet. Many tend to believe that a Cab is heavy and dry, but it can actually differ, especially when the wine is all natural like ours, with no additives to fuel taste expectations.

This wine has a unique spice, sometimes peppery, with a delightful acidity that is not overwhelming.

-

Moving up the spectrum, if you enjoy a Medium French Roast or House Blend, as with the line of comparison, you may enjoy Adamo because this can tend to be a light-medium red, however you may really be fond of our medium wine, Jorro-Ma a Syrah. This is also our only wine that is not blended, which provides a full flavor of only one varietal.

This wine offers an aroma that exemplifies its smooth yet rich earth taste with a distinct smokiness.

-

Now, if you are someone who fancies straight Espresso or Dark Roast coffees, then you will usually adore our heaviest red wine, Trouve a Cabernet Franc Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. This blend is unique in the fact that it changes with the courses of your meal, making Trouve a choice dinner wine.

This wine is true to heritage with a robust earthy flavor and exquisite dryness leaving nutty hints.
