Wine Bonds, Food Licensing, World Cup Football

[thankyou Shara for your comment - glad you enjoy the World Cup comments] It seems like an age since I was last here. So much seems to have happened too! I'll try to be brief.

Wine Bonds - Friday Michael and I went to see the guy who could do our wine bonds. He's located in Westerville so it's really convenient to the office. Anyway, in we go, armed with the Winery-In-A-Bag that was my shopping bag stuffed full with Via Vecchia's "Books" and my own personal financial info.
We spent a few moments about what we wanted and where we were at and he gave us some forms to fill in. Yes, more forms. One form was completed in Via Vecchia's name and one in my name, just in case no-one liked the idea of issuing a bond over something that wasn't trading and had minimal assets and no production. We completed these forms in his offices, handed them in and did some small talk again.
There was only 1 factor that might possibly delay a bond for us: that we have no insurance - but since we have no liabilities as we have no production to sell and don't have the public coming on site this can probably be made to go away.

Ohio Wine Producer's Association - Michael spoke to the nice lady who runs it. She got really enthusuastic about us, especially when she learned we made wine from grpaes. Apparently there's not enough wineries in central Ohio and they want us. She says she will visit us. I'll let Michael tell about the conversation.

A-2 Winery License - Now this was a good one, only resolved by Anton this morning. The State said they would reject applications for a winery license that didn't have a Food operator's License. Long and short of it is that the Health Board saw no reason to come inspect as we were not offering a food service and tried to come up with creative ways to give them a reason to inspect us and give us a license. It amounted to having to put up a table and sell stuff like crackers, olives, cheese. I ask you. Anyway Anton checked back with the State and they said their form was wrong and an A-2 application didn't need the food operator's license.
So, what's left? Just the bond and background checks. i ordered the forms for the latter on Monday, so they should arrive any day now. When we get them we'll go into Columbus and get "done". Then we submit our Fed and State forms.
Slowly, slowly.

World Cup - I taped Italy v Australia. OOOh what a game. I hated it - typical Italian game - miss every goal coming to you, play with 1 man down, and leave it until the last few seconds of 2nd half overtime to clinch it. You know it was bad when Totti got sent in again with just 15 minutes to go. And it was Totti that scored the penalty. All praise to Oz though - great solid defence and a goalkeeper who kept them in the game until the last - and you can't blame the goalie for not saving a penalty. I've watched too many games where they've had to go into extra time and screw it up o a penalty shoot-out. Nervy stuff, I tell you. Dad will be happy though. Haven't caught up on today's results but hope the French are eliminated. Brazilians too.
